Demographic profiling is a term used in marketing and broadcasting, describing a demographic grouping or market segment. Involving age, bands, social class, and gender. To find the target audience for the POP song I will need to research into existing Demographic profiling and create my own on Olly Murs and his genre.

I really like how the album cover is displayed at the end of the video. We are currently considering looking into using this idea in our music video.

Research: Goodwin's Theory

Performance

A performance based Music video contains shots showing the artist singing into the camera. Performance based shots mainly consist of close ups and medium close ups. For example, an establishing artists music video would mainly be close ups to create an impression on the audience and developing their identity. Perofmrance based shots are more common in rock music as rock bands perform live often.

Narrative

A Narrative based music video is a video that tells a story. There is a variety of shot types used in a narrative based shot. For exmaple, Taylor Swifts "love story" lyrics tell a story of 2 people falling in love. The music video tells the story through shots, linking very well to the lyrics.

Concept

A concept based video introduces the idea of a historic movement or memorable moment in time. For example; Little Mix - "Salute".
In additon, concept video can be based around a single idea or concept are commonly unusual and obscure, even surreal for the audience. Sometimes the video is that unusual they do not fully understand the entire concept of the video.

Research 3 : Taylor Swift - 'Love Story'

1] I really like the colour scheme and lighting in this video. The goldern colours really emphisise the rich colours and costume.
2] I love how performance based this video is, to fit with goodwins theory we will need to use many performance based shots in our final music video.
3] The narrative based aspects of this music video were very prominant throghout. I iked how clear the story was told.
